Abandoned military camp turned into a hot photo spot—pure white Greek architecture on the North Coast

There’s a new cultural hub on the North Coast, featuring exotic white buildings reminiscent of Santorini that transport you to the southern European charm of Greece. The Far North Blue Point has been transformed from an abandoned military camp into a popular new photography destination. The white buildings paired with the blue sea and sky were created by the North Coast National Scenic Area Administration with an investment of tens of millions of NT dollars. It’s the second project revitalizing an abandoned space, turning an inconspicuous military camp near Shaba Bay into a cultural and artistic attraction.

Far North Blue Point retains the solemnity of the original military camp while adding an artistic touch. Coupled with the nearby Shaba Bay, Fugui Cape Park, Fugui Cape Lighthouse, and Laomei Rock Shelves, it’s part of the North Coast’s rich tourist route, making it a prime spot for photos and travel. Not only is the exterior eye-catching, but inside you’ll also find exquisite pottery, blending humanities, art, and weekend market events to offer visitors a deeper travel experience.
