Clam Barracks: A Ruins-Chic Photography Hotspot in Changhua

In recent years, the trend of outdoor photo shoots has taken off, with people across Taiwan gradually uncovering hidden gems in every corner of the island. Various unexpected locations have become popular spots for photography. Located in Xianxi Township, Changhua County, there is an abandoned military barracks known as the Clam Barracks. It comprises 11 sites, all over 50 years old, featuring unique architectural exteriors with a strong military vibe and nostalgic charm. The stone monument "Never Forget Ji'an" (毋忘在莒) is made from clam shells, and the entrance bunker has been repurposed into an art village and coastal eco-recreation area. It has become a much-talked-about photography hotspot among Changhua netizens, attracting numerous influencers to take photos and check in.
