Taiwan High-Speed Rail Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Interactive Discovery Museum Opening

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Taiwan High-Speed Rail held a special “10th Anniversary of Operation & Discovery Museum Opening Ceremony.” Premier Lin Chuan, Minister of Transportation and Communications Hochen Tan, Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Wen-san, and THSR Chairman Jiang Yao-zong jointly unveiled the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail Discovery Museum.” The museum is designed to systematically organize and display valuable historical items from the planning, construction, and operation of the high-speed rail, commemorating the determination and spirit of those who built bridges and roads and completed the railway as scheduled.

The “Taiwan High-Speed Rail Discovery Museum” features 19 exciting themes, including the history of Taiwan's railway BOT projects, the birth of Taiwan High-Speed Rail, the development of the 700T high-speed train, the concept of a one-day living circle, and a hidden gem—the THSR Historical Archive Room. Visitors can learn about the development of railways in Taiwan and around the world, and also see a 1:1 scale model of a high-speed train, a life-like driver’s cab, and many other valuable high-speed rail artifacts.

In addition, through advanced technology and interactive exhibits in the museum, visitors can easily explore fascinating stories about the high-speed rail. The THSR company hopes to offer an unforgettable journey of discovery through an engaging and educational exhibition. In the future, the “Taiwan High-Speed Rail Discovery Museum” will accept group visits by appointment and provide guided tours by specially assigned THSR staff to introduce the exhibits.
