Bright yellow sunflowers in full bloom; the floral sea in Tiesianli, Xinying, is a visual delight

“Absolutely gorgeous!” Recently, passersby near the intersection of Provincial Highway 19A and County Road 70 by Tiesian Bridge in Xinying, Tainan, as well as along the Rosewood Green Tunnel, have spotted a stunning sea of sunflowers and cosmos flowers. Many have stopped to admire and take photos. This floral display was created by the Xinying District Office as part of the “Adjust Farming Systems to Revitalize Farmland Plan,” and has unexpectedly become a popular flower-viewing spot.

Some of the farmland near Tiesian Bridge in Xinying had been left fallow for years, while other parts were planted with hardy corn—resources that had gone largely unused for quite some time. To enhance land utilization, landowners joined forces with the Xinying District Office’s “Adjust Farming Systems to Revitalize Farmland Plan” by planting ornamental crops such as cosmos and sunflowers, which have since drawn crowds of flower enthusiasts.

With the weather warming up this week and conditions ideal, the bright yellow sunflowers in full bloom contrast beautifully against the clear blue sky, attracting many passersby who stop just to capture the lovely scenery. Not far from the sunflower fields lies another vibrant expanse of cosmos flowers in shades of pink and yellow swaying gently in the breeze—a truly romantic sight.

This beautiful floral sea spans around five hectares across the entrance and surrounding farmland of the Rosewood Tunnel. The cosmos and sunflower fields not only beautify the environment but have also emerged as a new tourist attraction in Xinying District. Landowners have even brought their tractors, grain harvesters, and corn pickers into the fields for display, creating a mini agricultural machinery exhibition amid the floral backdrop.
