Endless stretches of golden rice fields, set against blue skies and white clouds, are so soothing to the eyes and uplifting to the mood. Capturing these scenic views through your lens brings an immense sense of achievement. Most of Taiwan’s rice paddies are second-season crops, typically planted from August to January of the following year. About a month before harvest, you can see lush green fields, which then transform into golden waves of rice after the ears form. In addition to the rice fields in Hualien and Taitung, here we’ve carefully selected six breathtaking spots across northern, central, and southern Taiwan where you can witness these majestic golden rice waves.
