The architecture of Sun Square presents a Southern European Mediterranean style, forming a strong contrast with the adjacent Hualien Fishing Port. Unlike typical noisy and crowded places, this area offers a serene and leisurely atmosphere, allowing visitors to commune with nature and enjoy the comfort brought by sunlight and sea breeze.

Formerly known as Bird Step Stone Square, Sun Square has a ground-floor plaza lined with shops offering local specialties, while the second floor houses guesthouses for tourists to rest. Nearby, there is also a three-story observation deck where you can watch fishing boats come and go up close and gaze at the Pacific Ocean scenery in the distance, offering pleasant views.
