South Korea’s new hyperloop technology will cut Seoul to Busan travel time to just 16 minutes

South Korea recently announced plans to build a “hyperloop,” an ultra-high-speed train expected to reduce the Seoul-Busan journey to just 16 minutes. The project is set to be completed in 2021, allowing travelers to commute between Seoul and Busan anytime without spending extra time on travel.

A “hyperloop” is a high-speed transportation system where pods travel through low-pressure, near-vacuum tubes using electromagnetic levitation powered by solar energy. The pods are propelled by linear induction motors and air compressors to achieve ultra-high speeds.

According to foreign media reports, South Korea has announced plans to construct a “hyperloop.” The project is expected to take four years to complete, and once finished, it will reduce the travel time between Seoul and Busan to under 20 minutes, drastically cutting the current roughly three-hour trip.
