A 19-meter-tall new Gundam debuts at DiverCity; new exhibit sparks buzz

Located in Tokyo’s Odaiba district, the life-sized Gundam at DiverCity Tokyo has drawn attention from across the country, becoming a popular attraction in the city. After this Gundam was removed this spring, the new “RX-0 Unicorn Gundam” is set to take its place on September 24th, sparking renewed discussion.

Standing 19.7 meters tall, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam features approximately 50 illuminated parts, delivering even more stunning effects than the original Gundam. Additionally, a performance showcasing the Gundam’s transformation sequence takes place every 30 minutes in the evening.

To coincide with the arrival of the new RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, BANDAI has also launched the brand-new “THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO” exhibit, which officially opened on August 19th. Themed around “Let’s build GUNPLA together!” the new venue offers over 2,000 types of merchandise, including an “Assembly Zone” where visitors can immediately put together newly purchased kits, a “Factory Zone” that showcases the process of making plastic models, and an “Event Zone” hosting special events and selling exclusive items.
