The brand-new South Station Plaza of Keelung Railway Station officially opened on October 2. Its opening not only increases public activity space and tourist attractions in Keelung, but also creates a different romantic ambiance at night with various lighting decorations, offering people a place to relax in the evening. Whether for strolling, exercising, or a nighttime date, visitors can enjoy a unique experience here, making it Keelung’s newest scenic highlight.

This new South Station Plaza extends the station hall toward Xiaosi Road using an elevated platform design. As soon as passengers exit the station, they are greeted with a spacious and open feeling, with views overlooking the Ocean Plaza, showcasing the openness and grandeur of the new station. The plaza features a large metal roof panel canopy steel structure that not only provides shade and shelter from rain but also creates the new image of a giant welcome umbrella. The new station integrates travel service and retail spaces, making it more convenient for travelers. Outdoor plantings, flower stands, seating, and garden landscape lighting — including pedestrian overhead lights, ground recessed lights, decorative ring lights, and LED lights on the South Station curtain wall — make the new station even more beautiful at night, presenting another dazzling highlight.
