Fight the "back-to-routine effect" of winter break！ Hotels launch early-bird Spring Festival stay discounts

Due to the "leap sixth month" in 2017, this year's Lunar New Year falls later than usual. To ensure the winter break and Spring Festival holidays are back-to-back, the Ministry of Education has announced that over 2 million students nationwide will begin their winter break on the 25th and return to school on February 21st (the 6th day of the Lunar New Year). The six-day Lunar New Year holiday coincides with the tail end of the winter break. Concerned about the impact of the "back-to-routine effect" on occupancy rates, the Fuhwa Hotel Taichung is launching its “Prosperity Welcomes Spring” Lunar New Year early-bird stay package from now until the 15th, aiming to boost Spring Festival bookings.

The “Prosperity Welcomes Spring” package offers stays in superior single/double rooms from NT$5,280 during the period from New Year’s Eve to the 5th of the Lunar New Year, including buffet breakfast. This price represents an annual discount of approximately 30% off, and after the 15th, the rate will adjust back to around 20% off. Based on the most basic room type, the price difference is around NT$1,000. Guests who book early can save significantly.

Fuhwa Hotel Taichung stated that this year’s Lunar New Year holiday room rates are generally similar to last year’s, with no major increases. In recent years, most domestic travelers booking rooms for the Lunar New Year in Taiwan have made reservations intensively within the first three weeks. Currently, the average occupancy rate for the Spring Festival period is already around 50%, comparable to the same period last year. Another wave of booking peaks for the Lunar New Year holiday is expected by the end of January, with rooms likely to be fully booked earliest between February 17th (the 2nd) and February 19th (the 4th).

Observing the travel habits of Taiwanese during the Lunar New Year holiday, most have already planned their itineraries in advance. Staying at a hotel to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing rest, then indulging in a luxurious buffet breakfast the next day, is the most practical package offering. The Fuhwa Hotel Taichung is close to highway interchanges, providing convenient access from both north and south. Major attractions in Taichung, such as the National Taichung Theater and Rainbow Village, are all within a 10-minute drive, making it very convenient for those planning a free-spirited trip to Taichung or a short tour around central Taiwan.
