Must-See Christmas Decorations at 12 Department Stores in Xinyi District – Super Cute Holiday Walnut Bears Limited Edition for Collection

This Christmas, in addition to taking photos with dreamy decorations, you can also go on a treasure hunt around the city. The 2017 Taipei COOL Christmas event integrates 12 department stores across the city, connects four distinctive commercial districts, and involves over 80 businesses in total. Starting December 1st, follow the Taipei COOL Christmas treasure map to explore major department stores and specialty district shops, immerse yourself in Taipei’s festive Christmas atmosphere, and collect a total of 15 limited-edition Walnut Bears.

Last year, the city government first incorporated Christmas elements to launch the 2016 Taipei Colorful Christmas Season, connecting department stores and commercial districts. The campaign featured an East-West treasure map stamp-collecting activity to exchange for Nutcracker dolls, which received positive feedback and sparked a collecting craze. This year, continuing with the theme of Taipei COOL Christmas, the event expands its integration to include 12 major department store systems and 4 distinctive commercial districts for joint marketing. Through themed decorations at participating department stores and districts, special offers, as well as the Christmas treasure map stamp activity to exchange for Walnut Bears, the goal is to create the coolest Christmas celebration—allowing everyone to enjoy a rich holiday atmosphere without leaving the country.

This year’s Taipei COOL Christmas integrates 12 department stores including SOGO, Taipei 101, ATT 4 FUN, Taipei City Mall, Ming Yao Department Store, Xinyi Vivacity, Miramar, Uni-President Times, Breeze, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, Eslite Spectrum, and Bellavita. It also links four major commercial districts: Chaoyang, Huayin, Back Station, and Wufenpu, launching a total of 15 (including a hidden city government edition) limited-edition Walnut Bears.

The stamp-collecting activity kicks off simultaneously in department stores and commercial districts on December 1st, with a phased exchange format. Treasure maps can be obtained at the city’s tourism service centers, participating department stores, and commercial districts, or by downloading the app to use the mobile version. By collecting 3 different stamps (with at least one from a featured commercial district), and presenting a same-day single purchase receipt meeting the minimum spend (NT$300 at district shops, NT$500 at department stores), you can exchange for one free limited-edition designated Walnut Bear at each business's specified redemption time.
