Operation Save Love: A One-Day Kaohsiung Trip to Win Back My Girlfriend Who Wanted to Break Up – A Huge Success

Hello everyone, I’m Romance Legend. Though my love life is quite legendary, I’m now facing the biggest crisis of my life — my girlfriend of many years is about to break up with me. So I decided to take her on a one-day trip to Kaohsiung to see if we could save our fading love.

“Finally arrived, and my girlfriend looks really excited about this trip!” As soon as I stepped out of the train station, a somewhat creepy uncle called out to me.

“Kid, want to find some springtime?” the uncle said.

I love my girlfriend so much, and this is supposed to be a reconciliation trip — there’s no way I’m looking for any “springtime”!

“Uh… uncle… how much does it cost around here?” I asked sneakily.

“Depends on what you’re looking for. We have options for 600 a day or 400 a day,” the uncle said. 600 a day? That’s way too cheap — whose springtime is that affordable?

“The shop’s over there, just pick whoever you like and take them out,” he added.

Turns out it was Springtime Car Rental. Phew… almost turned into a breakup trip. But since we’re already here, let’s rent a car and officially kick off our Kaohsiung adventure.

Our first stop was Sister Lao Wu Breakfast Shop on Lai Nan Street, said to be a hidden gem recommended by Foodie Safari.

Wait… is this really the place? It’s so unassuming, I wouldn’t even want to go in.

“This place gives zero appetite,” my girlfriend started to get impatient.

“......................”

The menu had so many choices, no wonder she ended up ordering so much without thinking.

“Your baked egg sandwich looks so dry and flat!” my girlfriend said. “Uh… babe… wanna check it out from this angle?” I replied.

“Then what about this toast you ordered for me? It’s so plain.”

“Just take a bite first.”

“Mmm… actually, it’s pretty good.”

After eating, my girlfriend felt a bit thirsty and insisted on finding a popular drink shop.

“It’s the locals, I’m just following the crowd for the vibe, hahaha…”

Alright, forget I said anything.

According to the owner, they had just finished renovating recently.

So we ordered a cup of old-school black tea that we’d always wanted to try but never got the chance — it even came with a tea bag… wait, why are there two straws? Ah, must be because my girlfriend has a cold and doesn’t want to infect me. For a second I thought she didn’t want to share a straw with me.

We found that there were lots of old-school-style shops in the nearby alleys. Ah Mian Ma | Xian Qiao Yan among them.

“Boss, is that fire extinguisher your shop’s signature item?”

For some reason, the boss kicked us out.

But unexpectedly, there was an amazing wall right outside the shop.

With such a beautiful backdrop, it's perfect for taking pictures of my beauty. She looks just like a classical beauty stepped out of a painting, standing so gracefully.

Look at her cherry-like lips—told you so, didn’t I?

It’s almost noon, and worried about my girlfriend getting heatstroke, I brought her to this Japanese-style ice cream shop. There’s still half an hour before it opens, but the line outside is already forming.

The flavors here change every day. How lucky—we got hazelnut today, her favorite.

“Boss, I’ll have one of these!”

“................... Why is it cocoa................” My girlfriend’s face turned sour. Wait, what? I clearly ordered hazelnut, how did it become cocoa?

Ah, it’s because I broke my finger playing basketball a few days ago—the finger’s crooked. And also, there were too many customers and not enough seats, I was afraid my girlfriend’s black pants would get dirty.

“Don’t you know I’m on my period? Can’t eat too much ice. You finish the rest!” my girlfriend said.

“Thanks… babe, you’re the best.” Then we headed to Pier-2 Art Center, where there happened to be a cultural and creative market today.

Just then, my girlfriend seemed to notice something and hurried over.

She’s laughing. She’s smiling from ear to ear. At that moment, I think I understood something.

So this is why we’re almost breaking up. Anyway, let’s just swing a bit to clear my head.

Anyway, Pier-2 has plenty of installation art—it’s really great for couples to take sweet photos.

After walking around for so long, we got hungry, so we went to Miss Crocodile Brunch.

It’s located in an unassuming alley, with simple and fresh decor.

I had specifically pre-booked this couple’s seat with the staff in advance.

The menu is also quite creative. “So you ordered one bacon and tomato Margherita savory tart.”

“Yes.” “And one wild berry cheesecake.”

“Yes.”

“And one drink we’re both tired of.”

“Yes… huh?”

That’s what my girlfriend ordered—I’m guessing she meant the cheesecake is getting tiring, haha.

You take a bite, then another, and I never get a turn.

"Honey, there's something on the corner of your mouth. Let me get it off for you." After the meal, we took a stroll to the Kaohsiung Public Library.

It was brightly lit. Once inside the library, we started speaking in an unusually refined manner.

"Do you know why I brought you here? The beauty of this place isn't just the atmosphere—it reminds me of how wonderful my school days were."

"Do you remember back then when I sat behind you and told you all those cheesy jokes you loved? It's because I really liked you!" I said affectionately to my girlfriend. At that moment, she fell silent for a few seconds before replying.

"Where are you? You're too dark, I can't see you." Such a romantic line made my eyes well up with tears.

The place was dazzling with vibrant colors. “Break up happily,” I joked—indeed, after visiting the main library, I could even play word games like a Chinese idiom chain.

"Alright, then I’ll grant your wish—jump in."

My girlfriend’s expression turned serious.
