The Light Tunnel Breaks Popularity Records – Tamsui Customs Wharf Light Festival Extended by One Week

The photo hotspot’s final countdown begins!“The 2017 Tamsui Customs Wharf Light Festival” features a 50-meter-long romantic pink light tunnel. Since its opening on December 16 last year, visitors have rushed to take dreamy photos, which went viral on social media, triggering a pilgrimage effect. In response, New Taipei City Government has extended the festival until January 14, giving the public one last chance to create beautiful memories.

The New Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs noted that the Tamsui Customs Wharf Light Festival is dazzling at night, but also offers creative photo opportunities in different weather conditions. On rainy days, visitors can use transparent umbrellas or wear clear raincoats and shoot the light tunnel from a 45-degree upward angle to capture the dreamy, star-like glow, creating a poetic, misty ambiance under the night rain.

Additionally, the row of charming little lanterns beside the light tunnel offers a unique photo backdrop. Raindrops refracting through the myriad lights add to the enchanting and romantic atmosphere. There’s also the “Lumen Project” light and shadow performance curated by emerging artist Zhuang Zhiwei, offering creative inspiration for visitors to capture their own unique photos.
