Vanishing upon check-in ! Sweden’s “Invisible Treehouse” Hotel – Almost Transparent and Extremely Hard to Find

Every travel to a new city, looking for a hotel on the map is always a headache. Located in the woods of Harads in northern Sweden, there is an “extremely hard to find” “invisible hotel.” This hotel is not only marvelously built on trees with tree trunks as support points, but also uses special mirrors to reflect the surrounding landscape, successfully “camouflaging” itself among the trees. No matter how you look, you can’t find it. Even those who stay inside are virtually “vanished” from the face of the earth !

The “Invisible Treehouse Hotel,” designed by local Swedish designer Tham and Videgård Hansson Arkitekter, uses mirrored reflections of nature to completely integrate the structure into the forest. With only 4 cubic meters of interior space and situated about 5 meters above the ground, it is fully equipped with all necessary amenities. The upper level of the house even features an open-air terrace, offering a panoramic view of the pristine natural landscape.

The treehouse construction project was initiated by the Swedish hotel management company Brittas Pensionat, inspired by a Swedish documentary reflecting on the relationship between humans and nature, titled “Treelover.” Aiming to encourage more people to contemplate the environment and ecology, they decided to build 24 treehouses. In addition to the four-sided mirror “invisible treehouse,” there are also designs shaped like UFOs and bird nests. From construction to operational model, they strive to be “eco-friendly.” To prevent birds in the forest from being injured due to the unique design, they specially installed ultraviolet laminates visible only to birds, serving as a basic measure to protect the ecosystem.
