Located in Shilin, Taipei, Tienmu is considered an ideal place to live by many. With its spacious, tree-lined streets and a slower pace compared to the city center, its comfortable and pleasant atmosphere feels almost like being abroad. On weekends, many people visit Tienmu’s flea markets and cultural creativity fairs to hunt for treasures. Why not take this opportunity for a half-day trip? Stroll through the tree-shaded Tienmu Ancient Trail or the ecologically rich Donghe Park, then enjoy brunch or afternoon tea in the alleyways, and soak in the city’s relaxed charm.

A half-hour journey takes you to see a different side of Taipei！ Hidden within the bustling area, Tienmu Ancient Trail is commonly known as the “Tienmu Water Pipeline.” Originally built to supply water to downtown Taipei, although most of its water supply function has now been replaced by the Feitsui Reservoir, the large pipes still quietly lie in their original place as witnesses to the past. Along the trail, you can enjoy distant views of the valleys and terraced fields between Guandu Plain and Shamao Mountain, making this beautiful natural scenery one of the popular hidden gem trails.

In addition to trails suitable for walking and hiking, Tienmu’s Donghe Park and Tianhe Park were also renovated in December, becoming great recreational spots for locals. These two parks are located on both sides of Lane 69, Tienmu East Road, Shilin District. Tianhe Park features a unique natural spring with a constant temperature year-round, while Donghe Park is home to a rich diversity of ecological species extending from the Yangmingshan mountain range. The city government has also incorporated a forest adventure theme, using natural material-based challenge play equipment throughout the park, creating an outdoor space where nature and recreation coexist.

Visiting Tienmu isn’t just about exploring the shopping areas—enjoying delicious food is also a must. Tienmu is a well-known hub for international cuisine in Taipei, offering everything from American, Italian, and German to Indian dishes.
