Thump-thump "Heartbeat" Travel Trip – Chen Yidan and Cho Jung-seok Star in Microfilm Promoting Taiwan

To attract Korean tourists to visit Taiwan, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications specially invited Korean actor Cho Jung-seok and the graceful Taiwanese actress Chen Yidan as brand ambassadors. Yesterday (December 1st), the premiere of the microfilm “Thump-Thump 24 Hours in Taiwan” was held for the first time at COEX MAGABOX in Seoul to promote Taiwan through its filming.

Coming to Taiwan and tasting authentic Xiao Long Bao will make your heart “thump-thump,” visiting the National Palace Museum—one of the world’s top five museums housing over 650,000 cultural relics—will make your heart “thump-thump,” and cycling along the Sun Moon Lake bicycle path, ranked among the world’s top ten most beautiful routes, will make your heart “thump-thump.” Through the microfilm, the Tourism Bureau conveys three core elements: “Gastronomy,” “Culture,” and “Wellness Lifestyle.” The goal is to offer Korean travelers an experience in Taiwan where they can savor delicious food, appreciate rich culture, and enjoy a vibrant lifestyle—anytime, anywhere that gives their hearts that exciting “thump-thump” feeling.

The flight time between Taiwan and Korea is just over two hours. In particular, the launch of the new “Taipei Songshan–Seoul Gimpo” route and the extension of visa-free stay from “30 days” to “90 days” have led to a year-on-year increase in tourist numbers between the two countries.

Chen Yidan, who has previously starred in dramas with Korean actors and enjoys popularity in Korea, first greeted everyone in Korean. When asked how she felt about seeing the male lead of the microfilm, Cho Jung-seok, she responded that it felt just like traveling in Taiwan—also giving her a “thump-thump” feeling—which drew knowing smiles from fans present. Meanwhile, Cho Jung-seok, who recently won the Best New Actor award at the 33rd Blue Dragon Film Awards in Korea for his role in the movie “Architecture 101,” displayed strong star power and approachability. The venue’s over 300 seats were packed with fans. With a shy smile, he said “How are you?”, “Thank you,” and “Goodbye” in Chinese, and invited the audience to come to Taiwan with him next year. Every move he made drew excited gasps from his fans.
