42 international flagship events unveiled – A year-round celebration in Taiwan’s Tourism Calendar

The Tourism Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has promoted the “Taiwan Tourism Calendar,” selecting 42 flagship international events based on six key criteria: event content, supporting measures, resource integration, marketing efforts, event benefits, and future outlook. This allows international visitors to enjoy a rich, activity-packed experience throughout the year. Pre-arranged travel packages and special discount ticket combinations are also available. Additionally, bilingual (Chinese and English) brochures have been produced and placed at various tourist information centers for free distribution. A dedicated calendar webpage and mobile app have also been developed to help both domestic and international users access and download event-related information on dining, accommodation, transportation, shopping, and more — enabling them to freely plan memorable trips.

By strategically organizing events across time and space, the “Taiwan Tourism Calendar” integrates Taiwan’s most internationally recognized religious festivals, folk culture, sporting events, and innovative craft activities, while connecting them with food, lodging, transport, and shopping offerings. It serves as a comprehensive tourism information service brand. According to estimates based on information provided by various ministries, agencies, and local governments, the 42 flagship international events are projected to attract 23 million domestic and international visitors throughout the year, generating nearly NT$20 billion in tourism-related economic impact, including spending on accommodation, dining, and shopping.

By following the “Taiwan Tourism Calendar,” travelers can freely explore the island’s natural beauty, cultural warmth, athletic energy, artistic depth, and spiritual strength.
