Backpackers’ favorite website Agoda’s top-rated hotels   Raffles Singapore takes the crown

Agoda, the world’s most popular online hotel booking platform among backpackers, has ranked the best hotels of 2012 based on customer stay ratings. Tainan Far East International Hotel made it to 13th place, while the championship was claimed by Singapore’s Raffles Hotel.

In addition to offering hotel booking services, Agoda.com features user reviews on every hotel page, which the company guarantees are unedited and reflect the most genuine feedback from travelers.

The top spot was taken by Singapore’s Raffles Hotel, reflecting the city-state’s emphasis on tourism service excellence. Indonesia also performed remarkably well, with four hotels making the list. Notably, one reviewer highly praised the hotel, saying, “This hotel is one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed at. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The resort is especially suitable for families with children. It’s located in the heart of Ubud, and the villas and swimming pools are beautiful—absolutely perfect.”

Additionally, Agoda.com compiled a list of Taiwan’s top 10 quality hotels, with three hotels from the Kaohsiung area making the cut, showing that southern Taiwan’s hospitality has won over many international visitors.
