Plum blossoms bloom in Taroko Gorge  Hotels launch stay-and-dine packages for strolling through the canyon

As spring breezes blow more gently and sunny days become more frequent, the colors of the canyon are gradually turning vibrant. Now along the Taroko trails, all kinds of flowers are blooming one after another — cherry blossoms, azaleas, peach blossoms, and the bell-shaped large-leaved hydrangea dangling in the spring sun, playing the prelude to the season. On the plum trees that bloomed in winter, clusters of translucent, plump green plums have formed. Eupatorium attracts blue-spotted crow butterflies dancing gracefully among the blossoms, filling the entire canyon with lively spring vibes.

“Taroko Jing Ying Hotel,” located within the national park, is currently offering the “Dance with Spring Stay Package” from now until June 30. The package includes one night’s stay for two people with breakfast and dinner included, starting from NT$2,799 per person on weekdays. The deal covers one night in a Mountain Mist Room, buffet breakfast, and a choice of either a Chinese or Western-style dinner.

Guests can book a 7 AM activity and stroll through Tianxiang or go for a morning jog in the canyon with hotel staff, breathing in the fresh mountain air. Alternatively, they can use the “Explore Map” provided in their room to wander freely along nearby trails and create their own spring walking route. At night, they can enjoy the beauty of the starry sky and the rhythm of the stream. From Monday to Friday, they can listen to indigenous songs; on weekends, they can dance to the passionate melodies of local performers. Together, the unending vitality creates a symphony of spring in the canyon.
