Record-breaking 4 million visitors as Yilan Green Expo concludes successfully

The 51-day Yilan Green Expo concluded today (May 19), with cumulative attendance surpassing 400,000 visitors. Although the event faced unfavorable weather, overall turnout saw a slight increase compared to last year, with total revenue amounting to about NT$477.08 million.

Yilan County Magistrate Lin Tsong-shyan said the expo leveraged the geographical characteristics of Wujihkeng, offering visitors a zero-distance experience with nature. A variety of hands-on agricultural workshops were also part of the program, including guided tours at the Dashigu Secret Area, and straw craft workshops by Pearl Community and Erjie Community — all highly praised by attendees. On the final day, an enterprise adoption and contract farming signing ceremony was held on-site, ensuring that the vision of a sustainable, organic Yilan continues beyond the expo. This commitment aims to attract even more visitors to Yilan for immersive experiences.

To underscore the expo’s enduring spirit of “promoting organics,” eight participating organizations in the contract farming initiative were present to complete the adoption ceremony under the witness of Magistrate Lin Tsong-shyan and You, founder of the Yangshan Foundation. You stated that the foundation’s core value since its establishment has been “people-oriented, sustainable development.” In pursuit of a greener Taiwan, the Yangshan Foundation has promoted organic villages step-by-step, with the goal of building a new organic Yilan. Today’s contract signing ceremony marks another step forward toward the goal of healthy and safe eating, while an organic Yilan contributes to healthier citizens and moves closer to the vision of a happy Yilan.
