"Top 10 Islands in Asia" Annual Ranking: Thailand’s Koh Samui and Phuket Make the List

Thailand, a beloved travel destination for Taiwanese, has long been a favorite vacation spot for visitors from around the world. A renowned international travel website recently ranked the "Top 10 Islands in Asia," with Thailand taking home 40% of the awards. Phuket, Koh Samui, and Koh Tao were all selected, earning their place among the top islands for their stunning sunshine and ocean views.

Coming in first place is Koh Tao in Surat Thani Province. TripAdvisor describes it as having "delicate white-sand beaches, sheltered by steep hills on all sides, with sunny weather for 300 days of the year, allowing visitors to enjoy long, lazy afternoons." Ranked third is Koh Lipe in Krabi Province, which was selected for its excellent deep-sea diving, marvelous marine life, spectacular coral reefs, and the area’s beautiful sunsets. Meanwhile, the highly popular Phuket ranks sixth, and Koh Samui on Thailand’s eastern coast takes seventh place in the Top 10 Islands in Asia ranking.

The TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards are judged based on value for travelers, evaluating the top hotels, restaurants, and attractions over the past 12 months. In this annual round, the website assessed over 100 islands worldwide. Among them, Koh Tao is the only island in Asia to be included in the "Top 10 Islands in the World" list, where it secured eighth place. The top three islands in the world are Belize, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and French Polynesia.
