Some say Hong Kong summers are hot and more muggy than most Southeast Asian regions, but in fact, they’ve never truly experienced what “hot” means. There are places in the world that combine aridity, heat, and desolation all at once, making you feel your body burning and struggling to breathe — those arethe United StatesDeath Valley in California (USA), Dallol in Ethiopia, and Al-Aziziyah in Libya.

It could even be described as a place where not even birds would lay eggs,the United Statesand it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that California's Death Valley is just that. It is part of the Mojave Desert, covering an area of 1,408 square kilometers—equivalent to the combined size of 13 Hong Kongs. Due to its unique geography surrounded by mountains, the air in this region continuously cycles upward and downward, creating extremely hot conditions. In 1913, it recorded the second-highest temperature ever measured on Earth: 56.7 °C (134.1 °F).

埃塞俄比亚 - 达洛尔

埃塞俄比亚的达洛尔是一个以地质活动活跃见称的地方，由于是地球已知最低的陆地活火山，自1926年喷发至今，地热区仍会从地下释放出大量的热量和腐蚀性气体。这儿的环境奇异，在一层层由岩浆喷发而抬升的盐层，内里有黄色、红色、白色和绿色等绚烂的泉水，景致迷人。达洛尔在 1960 年至 1966 年间，创下世界有人居住地中最高年均温记录，近年随当地人民向外移居的关系，该区已变成死城，无人居住。

利比亚 - 阿齐济耶省
