Seoul's Stylish Music Library with Over 10,000 Vinyl Records to Enjoy

When you think of a library, no one would expect it to house anything other than books. Yet thisSeoul-based Music Library in the Hannam-dong district houses nearly 10,000 vinyl records and more than 3,000 books related to music and vinyl, including many limited editions — such as The Beatles’ first press of *Yesterday and Today* from 1966 and The Rolling Stones’ 1969 *A Special Radio Promotion Album in Limited Edition* with only 200 copies. It’s a mecca for music enthusiasts.

Its exterior, featuring a square design with floor-to-ceiling glass, is captivating. The building was jointly designed by Professor Choi Moon-gyu of Yonsei University and renowned architecture firm Gensler. Watching the light and shadows refract through the large glass panels gives it a stylish, modern vibe, and the interior includes several small open spaces designed for relaxation.

Established by Hyundai Card, the top two floors of this library are dedicated to vinyl records and music books. In addition to its vast collection of albums, the basement also features a performance space open to local indie bands and musicians. There are six turntables on-site, and staff are available to teach visitors how to play vinyl properly, making it an excellent venue for music exchange, especially for those new to vinyl.
