The popularity of Pokemon Go may have gradually declined, but besides getting more people outside to catch Pokémon,JapanFukuihas seen one of its suicide spots become unexpectedly lively!

Here’s the story:InFukuiPrefecture, there's a place called Tojinbo, where years of wave erosion have createdJapana steep and rugged cliff along the coastal shoreline, forming a 1-kilometer-long natural rock face that hasJapanbecome the country’s second most infamous suicide site, with nearly 100 people attempting to take their own lives here each year. To prevent such tragedies, the local government has implemented various measures, including installing a public telephone booth known as the “Life Line” and deploying staff and volunteers for patrols.

But surprisingly, thanks to the Pokemon Go game, a group of Pokémon trainers has been drawn to the area, bringing unexpected foot traffic—and inadvertently discouraging those with suicidal intentions.
