Amidst the scorching sun and hot summer days, you no longer have to travel far to cool off. The 2013 Taipei Water Festival kicks off on the 29th at the Gongguan Water Treatment Plant. This year, a new summer fountain play area has been added, featuring attractions such as a family-friendly pirate ship and fun, refreshing water buckets. The Water Museum is also transformed into a magical water wonderland, complete with adorable aquatic plants, baby clownfish, shell sisters, and little water droplet sprites—perfect for kids to splash around.

The Taipei Water Department stated that last summer, the park welcomed up to 300,000 visitors, making it one of the most popular cooling-off spots in the city. This year, in addition to the existing large Water Town Garden and Happy Family Pool for all generations to enjoy, weekend afternoons at the Water Museum will feature street performers putting on joyful shows. Visitors can enjoy splashing, taking photos, and participating in family-friendly interactive activities such as magic, balloon art, and acrobatics.

Special promotions for the 2013 Taipei Water Festival also include a collaboration with the Taipei University Gongguan shopping area. Simply purchase a ticket at the water park and accumulate points by shopping at participating stores in the area to redeem a water-themed eco-friendly tote bag worth NT$400. During the summer break, apply for an e-bill at the water park and enjoy immediate benefits including free admission for two people, plus two VIP passes to the water treatment plant grounds and water bill discounts.
