Tasting these spot-on xiaolongbao again, it’s clear that San Yuan has grown even stronger under Li Xue’s guidance. Both dim sum and main dishes are flavorful, and their vibrant signature style is truly eye-catching.

The ambiance is comfortable, making the dining experience even better. The stylish, Chinese-inspired lighting fixtures are a favorite of Bear’s (he has to take photos every time), and they even teach you the proper way to eat the dumplings—very thoughtful. The Sichuan pepper tea isn’t spicy but fragrant, which is one of the standout features of San Yuan Li Xue Sichuan-Style Soup Dumplings.

After a short wait,Li Xue((the person on the right in the photo above)appeared!! She’s a beautiful, business-savvy mainland Chinese wife with top-notch determination and skills in the kitchen. The chili peppers used here are also personally crafted by Li Xue.

Next up is a series of signature dishes from San Yuan Li Xue Sichuan-Style Soup Dumplings. First up isCold Mixed Black Fungus for Health(photo on the left above, 180 TWD), which looks incredibly refreshing!! (Perfect for summer) It has a crisp, slightly tangy texture that stimulates the appetite while offering a good chew.Li Xue’s Brewed Tomato(photo on the right above, 100 TWD) is made by first blanching fresh beef tomatoes and peeling them to naturally bring out their sweetness. They’re then marinated in rock sugar without adding a single drop of water, balancing the spiciness in your mouth (seems like a great choice for Dad and Mom Bear). Now, the signature dishes of San Yuan Li Xue Sichuan-Style Soup Dumplings are about to make their appearance. The Imperial Gold Foil Xiaolongbao(photo above, 500 TWD for a serving of 5) alone shows the skill behind San Yuan Li Xue Sichuan-Style Soup Dumplings. These gold foil dumplings are filled with abalone, sword shrimp, scallops, and perfectly proportioned pork hind leg meat for an incredibly delicious texture that had us (Bear and Meow) chewing with delight. The filling is made by mixing in sesame oil, and adding gold foil takes it to a whole new level of luxury and indulgence (what if we can’t have it again?).▲ Adding a bit of chili oil enhances the sweetness of the seafood and juice even more (left photo).
