Container houses again? Go picnic at Kaohsiung’s “Container Village”!

Hong Kong has recently sparked a discussion about setting up “container houses.” In fact, beyond their use as accommodations, container houses have become some of the trendiest and most popular tourist attractions around the world, drawing visitors eager to take photos. LocatedKaohsiungOn Fuxing 3rd Road, “Jihe Box．Kubic” is one of the emerging container house attractions !

KaohsiungAfter taking inspiration from container markets such as Seoul’s “COMMON GROUND” and Bangkok’s “ART BOX,” the Kaohsiung City Government assembled 33 colorful containers like building blocks to create a large-scale park, forming the creative landmark “Jihe Box．Kubic.” It officially opened in March this year, covering an area equivalent to 15 soccer fields, with plenty of open grassy space perfect for picnics.

KUBIC stands for Kaohsiung(Kaohsiung), Urban (city), Boxes (containers), Innovation, and Creative, aiming to unleash boundless creativity through stacked containers. The container village also serves as a platform for exhibitions, forums, and startups. Currently, there are 15 cultural and creative shops and eateries stationed here. “Useful Guide” repurposes life’s waste materials through design to reduce waste, while “Taste Lab – Caitha” shares high-quality agricultural products and design concepts, bringing farm produce closer to everyone’s daily life.

“Jihe Box．Kubic” is located at No. 5, Fuxing 3rd Road, Lane 8, Jianlong Li. Visitors can take the Red Line MRT to R7 Shijia Station, exit from Exit 4, turn left onto Fuxing 3rd Road, and walk for 5 minutes. Since the container village is currently planned to operate for only one year, until October next year, visitors heading toKaohsiungshouldn’t miss out on this popular photo spot !
