Taichung Flower Carpet Festival kicks off on the 23rd – Take an aerial sneak peek at the 6-meter-tall "Floral Music Box"

Taichung always gets especially lively towards the end of the year. The 2017 Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival will officially open on December 23, themed “The Sound of Blooming,” combining flowers with the concept of listening. Through three-dimensional, dynamic floral installation art, it presents a vibrant and colorful garden. Come take an early look at these beautiful aerial photos.

This year’s main flower carpet features the city flower of Taichung, the “Taiwan cherry blossom,” dancing alongside dynamic mechanical flowers such as lilies and cosmos. There are three major thematic highlights: “Taiwan Cherry Blossoms in Bloom,” “Happy Chorus of the Formosan Clouded Leopard Family,” and “A Colorful Canvas of the Earth.” Visitors can not only enjoy the flowers but also interact with five musical instrument-themed installations, allowing them to have fun among the blooms and take great photos.

To accommodate the large crowds expected during the festival, additional shuttle buses have been added this year, featuring elements of the Flower Expo mascot. These include: Tiger Mom Red Line (Fengyuan Railway Station), Happy Tiger Green Line (Houli Railway Station, Houli Elementary School), Tiger Dad Yellow Line (Zhongke to Horse Ranch Parking Lot), Come Tiger Blue Line (Lihpao Resort Third Parking Lot), and Omega Horse Purple Line (available on holidays, intersection of Fenggong South Road and Fenggong Road in Fengzhou Science and Technology Park).

In addition, from now until January 1, the Lihpao Resort Third Parking Lot will be open, allowing visitors to take the free shuttle bus (Come Tiger / Blue Line) to the Flower Carpet Festival to enjoy the flowers, then return to Lihpao Resort after 2 PM to play. Taichung residents can enter for just NT$280.

* The Come Tiger Blue Line operates from 8:20 AM on weekdays, with departures every 25–30 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on holidays.
