13 Free Indoor Parent-Child Centers in Taipei’s 13 Districts – Explore Them All via MRT!! Wenwen thought the Beitou Parent-Child Center near her home was already super fun~ But these government-run, privately operated Taipei City Parent-Child Centers are planned by different organizations, each with its own unique theme. Sometimes she also wants to take her little one somewhere new and experience other district centers.
Moreover, parent-child centers offer not just play spaces but also a wide range of activities (some require advance registration), such as parent-child movement sessions, parent-child kitchens, parent-child theater, birthday parties, traditional one-year-old ceremonies, baby sign language, baby massage… There are even outdoor activities held outside the center~ Plus, there are parenting lectures and guidance sessions for parents, including even belly dancing and prenatal yoga.. (Most of the above activities are free… or may have a small material fee) Parent-child centers aren’t just places for little ones to play—they’re also great resources for parents!!

All 13 centers are closed on Mondays, with additional unscheduled cleaning or closure days. Entry is available via online reservation or walk-in (capacity varies by venue size), but reserving online in advance “guarantees” entry (though if you’re more than 15 minutes late, your spot may be given to waitlisted guests and cannot be held~)
At the end of the article, you’ll find reservation websites for all 13 centers’ spaces and activities—kids from other cities or abroad can also apply. Except for Wanhua Parent-Child Center, which is really too far to walk to (we recommend taking a bus or taxi), most centers are easily reachable by MRT and a short walk—super convenient!! Below is a list of the nearest MRT stations and exits for each center, ranked from closest to farthest walking distance after exiting the station~

Address: 2F, No. 199, Shuiyuan Rd., Wanhua Dist., Taipei City (inside Youth Park; for drivers, set navigation to Youth Park Golf Course underground parking)
Phone: 02-23047468
Nearest MRT stations: Longshan Temple Station, Xiaonanmen Station, or Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station; transfer to taxi (estimated fare NT$100–130). To transfer by bus, based on Wenwen’s experience, take bus 20, 223, 212, or 12 from Ximen Station—the bus stops are closer to the MRT, some even have low-floor buses suitable for strollers—but the bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Please evaluate your time accordingly, moms. The Wanhua Parent-Child Center has a large space, plus the playground and swimming pool at Youth Park—perfect for a full day of fun.

The walking time from the parent-child centers to the MRT stations does not include elevator wait times, red lights, or other road conditions. Times are roughly estimated via Google and adjusted based on Wenwen’s personal experience, but moms should still assess their own stamina and other factors (e.g., those with strollers may need to use exits with elevators).
Also, here’s a brief summary of the parent-child center usage rules: children aged 6 or younger (before entering 1st grade elementary school, not including 1st grade) are eligible to enter. Children who have turned 6 but haven’t started elementary school are also allowed in (subject to ID verification).

Although the parenting-friendly spaces in Taipei City may not be as large as children's activity centers, they are fully equipped with play areas and a variety of parent-child activities: parent-child kitchens, arts and crafts, storytelling... and more exciting options are all available here too. Currently, there is no unified reservation website for these friendly spaces—you'll need to make inquiries and book at each location individually. Public holidays vary by site, and the closure days listed below have been confirmed by Wenwen through phone calls to each venue. However, there may be unscheduled disinfection days or temporary closures, so please refer to the official websites or social media pages for the most accurate information!
