New Taipei City International Environmental Art Festival "Around the World" Carnival Parade in Tamsui This Saturday

Organized by New Taipei City, the 2013 International Environmental Art Festival will make its dazzling debut in Tamsui this Saturday (October 5)! With 49 teams and over 1,500 participants dressed in artistic costumes representing various countries, Tamsui Old Street will be transformed into a wild carnival of "Around the World" fun.

This annual International Environmental Art Festival has gathered the highly creative residents of Tamsui this year. Communities, clubs, and schools have taken "Around the World" as their theme, drawing on residents' observations and research into foreign art, culture, and characteristics to infuse each participating team with the unique temporal and spatial backgrounds of different countries, transforming them into small representatives of the world.

During the parade, teams along the route will also interact with spectators and create large-scale mobile installations, using costumes and performances to showcase the beauty of the world, giving the audience the feeling of taking a sightseeing train and experiencing the wild journey of traveling around the world.

In conjunction with the festival’s street parade, Tamsui Old Street will implement traffic control from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Local residents wishing to enter controlled areas must present identification to police or take alternative routes.
