New Big Mandarin Duck Pair in Hsinchu Paired with National Day Fireworks — Romance Level Off the Charts

Before the Yellow Rubber Duck heads north, Hsinchu City has taken the lead by launching a pair of 5-meter-tall, vibrantly colored giant mandarin duck balloons. The display location is at the starting point of Hsinchu’s 17-Kilometer Coastal Route — the old harbor area of Hsinchu Fishery Port, which boasts a Mediterranean vibe. Paired with the 36,000-firework National Day fireworks show on the 10th, the romance level is absolutely off the charts.

The city’s Urban Marketing Office stated that the giant mandarin ducks will be on display for a whole year starting now. The exhibition site was carefully chosen in the old harbor area, which features a blue-and-white Mediterranean ambiance. Visitors here can not only enjoy a romantic fishing harbor experience but also watch the waves, listen to the tides, cycle along the paths, and sample fresh seafood. There’s also an arched bell tower on the surrounding grassy slope that occasionally rings out with joyful chimes. For couples visiting together, it offers an even sweeter vibe.

On National Day, 36,000 fireworks will also be launched from the mouth of the Touqian River. The entire show will last 42 minutes. This year, they’re introducing 16-ton “cannon barrel” fireworks, which will ignite both high in the sky and simultaneously over the water. The marketing office pointed out that visitors can enjoy the dazzling fireworks by the fishery port while taking in the sight of the giant mandarin ducks, immersing themselves in a richly romantic atmosphere.
