The Scent of Ducks in Duck Country – Come to Yilan to Chase Little Ducks and Taste Cherry Ducks

Yellow rubber ducks have made their way to Yilan. Starting November 2, Yilan County is launching the “Duck Country, Duck Aroma” event, where guides will lead participants to experience authentic duck farming culture. Visitors can head into the fields to chase ducks and get up close with the little ones, learn how to hull rice, make red-clay salted duck eggs, and enjoy the renowned Yilan cherry duck.

The “Duck Country, Duck Aroma” event has entered its 7th year. Unlike previous years’ food banquets, this year features a two-day, one-night immersive trip to the hometown of Yilan’s cherry ducks. During the event, professional guides will introduce visitors to duck farming knowledge, offer a nearly “extinct” duck-chasing experience, and take participants deep into northern Taiwan’s most important “egg depot” to explore the legend of the little ducks.

The organizer, Yilan Duck Farming Production Cooperative, explained that the event is divided into two packages. The one-day in-depth tour is priced at NT$1,399 per person, including the “Duck Mom Tour” featuring duck farming culture and a duck-chasing experience, and the “Duck Dad Tour” focusing on visiting duck farms and duck egg processing. On the evening of November 2, the event kicks off at Luodong Zhongshan Park, where activities such as sampling bubble tea-flavored cherry duck and DIY roast duck eggs will also be held.
