As Christmas approaches, major department stores transform into themed Christmas villages. Taipei’s BELLAVITA luxury department store goes for a British retro vibe, while Taoyuan’s Zhongli District’s Dajiang Shopping Mall has unveiled a three-story-tall Christmas tree this year, where visitors can also enjoy meals right under the tree.

This year’s design, themed “Believe, Bless, Love,” sees Dajiang Shopping Mall fill its basement level with a row of European-style snowy cabins — in timber, red brick, and irregular stone styles, each one distinct. Snow drapes from their roofs, warm lights glow from within the windows, creating a cozy festive atmosphere.

In front of the European wooden cabins, a giant polar bear sits lazily on the ground, attracting many visitors to pose for photos with it. Paired with the nearby Christmas tree, it’s become the hottest check-in spot. You can also spot unicorns and deer around.
