Top 10 Hot Spring Hotels in Taiwan: Beitou’s “Skin Nourishing Spring” Takes the Crown

The results of the “Top 10 Hot Spring Hotels in Taiwan – A Celebration of Renowned Springs,” hosted by a well-known web portal, have been announced. Through online voting and mystery shopper evaluations, ten top-quality hot spring hotels across Taiwan were selected. Among them, the L’Amitié Resort Beitou earned the prestigious title for its spring quality and dining options.

Taiwan’s diverse terrain also brings a wide variety of spring qualities, with most in the north located in Beitou and Yangmingshan — one of Taiwan’s four major historic hot spring regions. Beitou is the birthplace of Taiwan’s hot spring culture, known for its sulfur springs that are particularly beneficial to skin, with their yellowish-white, milky appearance helping to soften skin keratin. These therapeutic springs have earned the nickname “skin nourishing springs.” In the voting, the L’Amitié Resort Beitou, located in Beitou District, was awarded “Taiwan’s Best Renowned Spring Award,” “Unique Culinary Award,” and “Online Popularity Award,” further solidifying Taiwan’s reputation as a premier hot spring destination.

Meanwhile, the Grand Formosa Taroko in Miaoli was honored with the “Architectural Aesthetics Award” for its green building concept, featuring exposed concrete and glass curtain walls that blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The design allows the resort to coexist beautifully with nature, offering different cultural experiences and atmospheres throughout day and night that captivate visitors. The “Geographical Landscape Award” went to the Sun Moon Lake Yuen Ming Palace, situated on the scenic Hanbi Peninsula in Sun Moon Lake. With ever-changing mountain and lake views from its prime location, guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of both lakes. In Southern Taiwan, the Linkuei Limestone Spring Resort in Guanziling Hot Spring Area won the “Great Value Hot Spring Award,” celebrated for its unique mud hot springs — a rare find worldwide — offering a luxurious yet affordable relaxing hot spring experience.
