The first exhibition of the Little Yellow Duck (Rubber Duck) in Kaohsiung came to a glorious close today (20th) at Glory Pier, attracting a total of 3.9 million visitors over the month-long event, generating over NT$1 billion in tourism revenue, and bringing immense happiness and joy to the people of Kaohsiung and Taiwan. It took a total of 15 minutes for the Little Yellow Duck to deflate, and many onlookers expressed their reluctance to see it go, saying, "We hope to see the duck again next year."

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu stated that with the collaborative efforts of both public and private sectors, the Little Yellow Duck exhibition in Kaohsiung was a great success. The duck’s astonishing charm caused a sensation across Taiwan, drawing large crowds to Glory Pier and boosting the city’s business and tourism boom. According to statistics, the duck attracted over 3.9 million visitors, with more than 5,000 free shuttle bus trips provided, generating over NT$1 billion in economic value. Today, the Little Yellow Duck will temporarily bid farewell to Kaohsiung and continue to spread love and peace to other cities.

The closing ceremony began with a dance between the little duck and a swan, followed by a three-wheeled vehicle shaped like a native Taiwanese duck, loaded with yellow balloons, entering the scene. Guests at the event released environmentally friendly yellow balloons amid the countdown, symbolizing the duck’s departure to its next dream destination and Kaohsiung’s blessings for it. Finally, to the sound of ship horns, water sprays, and the cheers of citizens and duck fans, the Little Yellow Duck returned from Glory Pier to Pier-2 Art Center, where it underwent hoisting ashore, deflation, packing, and related work, marking the end of its delightful Kaohsiung journey.

On the final day of the Little Yellow Duck exhibition, the Government Information Office specially called on citizens and duck fans from all over to wear yellow clothing, matching the duck’s color, to bid it farewell together. Many adults and children responded by wearing yellow tops, expressing gratitude for the adorable Little Yellow Duck’s one-month companionship, which left Kaohsiung with endless surprises and beautiful memories. They also hoped the duck would continue to spread this love and peace.
