Designed by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito, the National Taichung Theater’s beamless, pillar-less curved-wall construction is recognized in the industry as one of the “world’s most challenging buildings to construct.” In celebration of the upcoming Christmas season, the theater has been transformed into a romantic tunnel, with projection lights emitting festive Christmas vibes onto its white walls. Christmas trees, snowflakes, and stars are scattered across every corner, creating the illusion of stepping into a mesmerizing and mysterious Christmas wonderland.

The “Magical Tunnel” is a special Christmas event designed by the theater in 2017. Unlike last year’s romantic snowfall theme, this year’s design adopts a playful and lively children’s style. Located in the Grand Theater lobby on the second floor, a spectacular projection show is held every day starting at 1 PM, running every half hour. Visitors can immerse themselves in a colorful Christmas dream. Those planning to visit the theater soon shouldn’t miss out on this experience.

In addition to the dazzling magical tunnel, the sixth floor of the National Taichung Theater also features an ultra-romantic Christmas photo spot. The Sky Garden extends upward with its uniquely curved walls, resembling varying-sized white volcanic craters emerging from the ground. The management has specially decorated it with numerous lights for Christmas, adding an extra layer of romance to the nighttime garden.
