If you still think the nutritious sandwiches at Keelung Miaokou are famous, that’s so outdated. Real Keelung locals will tell you that 【Qidu Family-Style Nutritious Sandwich】 on Chongzhi Street in Qidu is the real deal.

Plus, the prices here are much more affordable. A sandwich at Keelung Miaokou costs 55 NT$, but at Qidu Family-Style, it's only 35 NT$ per sandwich, or 100 NT$ for three. So most people buy them in sets of three, and the place is super busy every day — even in the evening, there’s usually a line.

The main store of 【Qidu Family-Style Nutritious Sandwich】 is in Qidu, open from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Unless you’re already heading to Keelung or passing by, most people make a special trip to Qidu just for the sandwiches.

Years ago, a colleague from Keelung took us there to try them, and wow, the difference was immediate. Forget the price — the outer bread at Qidu Family-Style is freshly fried, hot, crispy, and chewy, with a subtle sweetness from the starch. The bread alone is so fragrant and delicious.

The inside is generously spread with mayo, layered with cucumber, ham, egg, and tomato, giving it a refreshing taste and great texture.

Paired with the crispy bread, even though one sandwich fills you up, for many foodies, you might want a second one. Unless you have serious self-control, the calories will definitely add up.

I heard there’s now a branch in Xizhi too — it’s hidden inside the Xizhi Night Market and operates from noon until evening. So later, I could just get them near Xizhi, and the taste is the same as in Qidu.

I always grab a cup of watermelon juice to go with it — that makes a complete meal.

They do delivery in Xizhi, but you need to call early. During the evening rush after work or school, they’re too busy, so the owner can’t deliver. You can also call in your order and pick it up yourself.

In Xizhi, the bread is also made fresh when ordered — nothing beats the crispiness of just-fried bread.

This is truly a beloved home-style snack. No wonder the shop can’t handle delivery during the busy evening hours after school. But if you call earlier, they can deliver — it’s perfect as an afternoon work tea break. No wonder all my colleagues are well-fed and plump XD (just kidding).
