Regarding the explosion of the Keelung Rubber Duck at 12:54 PM today, the organizing committee held an emergency press conference at 2:30 PM to address the incident. Organizer Huang Jing-tai stated, “We will identify the cause as quickly as possible.” As for the offer to lend the Kaohsiung Rubber Duck, Huang said that to prevent a similar explosion from happening again and potentially damaging the Kaohsiung Duck, he indirectly declined the kind offer from the Kaohsiung City Government.

Huang Jing-tai said that with the New Year approaching, the urgent incident of the Rubber Duck explosion has occurred. In the future, he will lead an emergency response team to get the Yellow Duck back in the arms of the public as quickly as possible. He expressed deep gratitude to Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu for agreeing to lend the Kaohsiung Rubber Duck. However, after consulting with the manufacturer, Atmosphere Company, and based on safety concerns to avoid another explosion that might damage the Kaohsiung Duck, it was deemed unsuitable to exhibit in Keelung again. Huang Jing-tai sincerely thanked Mayor Chen Chu for her generous offer and extended his deepest gratitude to the mayor.
