Take the 3rd-generation solar-powered Love Boat for a sweet river cruise and onboard party on the Love River

There’s a new way to enjoy the Love River ! The popular solar-powered Love Boats in Kaohsiung have now added two new 3rd-generation vessels, officially launching a “sunshine fleet” of 12 boats. On the new solar boats, dining seats can be converted into tables, allowing visitors to enjoy buffet-style meals on board and even invite their own band to perform for a river party.

Zhang Qingquan, chairman of Kaohsiung Ferry Co., Ltd., said the new generation of Love Boats features a sleek, intersecting streamline hull design, with newly added colorful “ribbon-high” flowing lines on the body, complemented by the city’s logo motif. At night, sparkling LED lights enhance the boat’s fashionable look. To accommodate the growing number of international visitors, multilingual audio guides in English and Japanese have also been installed at every seat.

Zhang pointed out that visitors can also invite their own bands to perform and prepare light snacks and desserts to be placed on the “transformable” dining tables on board. Each Love Boat ride lasts 25 minutes. To encourage groups or individuals to host onboard parties, a half-price discount is offered on all subsequent rides after the second one when renting two or more consecutive rides.

Starting this year, the dining boats have also partnered with catering operators. From Monday to Thursday, the price is NT$500 per person with a set main course, while side dishes, snacks, fruits, drinks, and hot soup are served buffet-style. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, a full buffet is offered with over 10 delicious dishes. The full fare is NT$700, with discounted tickets for seniors over 65 and children under 2 at NT$500. The cruise lasts 100 minutes.
