TransAsia Airways Partners with VISA for 10% Off Flight Tickets

TransAsia Airways announced a collaboration with international card organization VISA. From now until December 31, 2014, VISA business cardholders who purchase round-trip business class tickets for TransAsia Airways’ international/two-sided (cross-strait) routes departing from Taiwan (excluding code-share flights) via card payment will enjoy an exceptional 10% discount on the ticket price.

According to VISA’s “Travel Intentions Survey Report” conducted in 2013, 44% of Taiwanese respondents cited Japan as their top travel destination, followed by Mainland China (42%). Moreover, 36% of Taiwanese plan to visit Japan within the next year, significantly ahead of Mainland China in second place (12%).

TransAsia Airways spokesperson Kao Chih-hua stated that the applicable routes under this partnership include the most popular destinations among Taiwanese travelers, such as Japan and cross-strait routes.These include 13 international destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Hokkaido, as well as 12 cross-strait destinations including Shanghai, Tianjin, Fuzhou, and Xiamen.In the future, new international/cross-strait routes launched by TransAsia Airways in 2014 are also expected to be eligible for this discount. To provide travelers with greater flexibility in planning their trips, the promotion also allows interchangeable use among four Hokkaido destinations—Sapporo, Hakodate, Asahikawa, and Kushiro (changes must be confirmed prior to departure, and any applicable airport tax differences must be paid). The campaign period spans one full year, facilitating better travel planning for the public.
