The bright red, plump strawberries are mouthwatering just to look at and are one of the must-try winter treats. Tainan’s Neko Toast Castle, known for its affordable hot-pressed toast, is especially popular among students and has gained fame around Chenggong area. Starting December 8th, new Strawberry Daifuku Toast and Strawberry Sandwiches are now available. The cat owner said that they will be sold as long as supplies last from the Miaoli vendor.

A whole bright red strawberry, cut in half, is layered in the toast along with chef-made sweet red bean paste, letting you enjoy both the bean bits and the smooth paste. It’s further complemented by a not-too-sweet custard sauce, adding layers of flavor. The cat owner stated that the strawberry daifuku hot-pressed toast is specially made by the chef and isn’t available elsewhere — one serving for NT$65.

Another strawberry sandwich is even more perfect for strawberry lovers. It features three hand-picked, plump strawberries on thick toast, with their sweet-tangy flesh releasing a rich aroma. Topped with a mildly sweet and cool custard sauce, it gives off a romantic vibe — you just can't stop at one bite. One serving for NT$85.

Aside from the two new strawberry items, the shop also offers popcorn corn chowder. The cat owner explained that people in Tainan usually prefer thinner soups, but a thicker broth is needed to keep the popcorn floating on the surface. In one sip, you get both the rich buttery aroma and delicate milk scent, paired with crispy, salty popcorn — a very special taste. One cup for NT$45.

The cat owner mentioned that because he loves cats, he specifically combined a cat shelter with the restaurant. The shop currently houses 5 resident cats, all living in the “cat room,” and you can make advance reservations to interact with these cute cats. Many sharp-eyed netizens also say the cat owner looks 95% like the cat in the logo — those interested might want to take a closer look.
