The Maokong Gondola resumes service on the 20th with a refreshed Kitty-themed cabin

The Taipei Maokong Gondola, which underwent a 15-day annual maintenance, resumes service on the 20th. The revamped Hello Kitty-themed gondola not only looks brand new but also comes with the “Maokong Gondola Round-Trip Value Ticket,” allowing passengers to enjoy an unlimited-distance round trip on the day of issue.

The “Maokong Gondola Round-Trip Value Ticket” is priced at NT$120, for single-person use. On the day the ticket is activated, it allows one unlimited-distance round trip on the Maokong Gondola and includes one additional free ride. Within three days of riding, passengers can apply for a NT$20 deposit refund at any gondola station. With just one ticket, you can travel back and forth between Taipei Zoo Station and Maokong Station, with the option to get off midway to visit the Zhinan Temple, or stop at the Zoo’s Inner Station to see the panda cub “Yuan Zai” at Taipei Zoo. Additionally, before the end of the year, cardholders can enjoy special in-store discounts at 17 partner shops in the Maokong area, such as A Yi Normal University Teapot Restaurant, Chun Cha Xiang, and Yao Yue Tea House.

To save time queuing on-site, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation also recommends that passengers make online reservations for the Maokong Gondola. Simply visit the “Taipei Citizen e-Service” website up to one day before your ride, select“Maokong Gondola Reservation System”, book your desired date, cabin type, and time slot, and print your “Maokong Gondola Reservation Check-in Slip” to complete the reservation process. This reduces waiting time on-site and helps you plan your trip more efficiently.
