The Japanese beverage "Afternoon Tea" is known for its rich flavor, and many have likely tried drinking it. But have you ever thought about "soaking" in it? Hakone’s famoushot spring theme park, "Hakone Kowakien Yunessun," is offering a limited-time "Afternoon Tea" hot spring from now until July 18—and there's more than one flavor!

The hot spring theme park "Hakone Kowakien Yunessun" combines a hotel with a variety of hot spring facilities, and is quite well-known locally. The park offers a wide range of hot spring types, and they even come in different "flavors"—such as the "Red Wine Hot Spring," which has red wine powder added daily, the "Green Tea Hot Spring," which gives the feeling of soaking in a teacup, and the "Coffee Hot Spring," which includes freshly brewed coffee, among others, adding more fun to the hot spring experience.

Starting in April, "Afternoon Tea" began collaborating with Hakone Kowakien Yunessun. The first phase introduced an outdoor "Afternoon Tea" hot spring, and on May 7, a second phase was added: the "Afternoon Tea—Lemon Flavor" hot spring. To maintain the hot spring’s fragrance, staff add a hot spring powder made from the same tea leaves used in the drink twice a day. Meanwhile, the also popular "Afternoon Tea Milk Tea" hot spring will be launched soon.

However, the park also reminds visitors that although all the "flavored" hot springs have their own therapeutic benefits, they are not for drinking—so don’t try tasting them out of curiosity.
