The rare "Blue Tears" spectacle of Matsu can now be seen at the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology！June 8th is "World Oceans Day". To help everyone understand the importance of marine issues, the NMNS has taken the opportunity to launch the "Algae Has Arrived" special exhibition starting June 8th, using light projections to present the rare "Blue Tears" algae to the public. Visitors entering the museum on June 8th can also enjoy half-price admission.

In this special exhibition, the NMNS showcases domestic and international algae and related knowledge through specimens, poster illustrations, light installations, and live displays, allowing the public to learn about algal ecology through interactive games. Four special aquariums display live native algae, seagrass, and aquatic plants. Additionally, there is a specimen of California giant kelp, and fluorescent lights recreate the "Blue Tears" phenomenon—unique to the waters around Matsu—which can only be seen in Taiwan, offering an experience akin to the dreamlike seascape in the movie "Life of Pi."

Meanwhile, visitors entering the museum on World Oceans Day can enjoy half-price admission at just NT$100. The "Algae Has Arrived" special exhibition also features three tasks for visitors to complete in search of "algae," with opportunities to win exclusive "12 Zodiac Algae Cards," a "Taiwan Algae Map," and "Healing Magical Algae Balls"—bringing home your very own baby algae.
