Ultimate accommodation for train enthusiasts: model trains running through the room

What kind of hotel do train enthusiasts love the most? In Akihabara, Japan’s largest hub for electronics, there’s a hotel that has created a “model train room” especially for them. The room features an extensive railway model layout spanning 4 square meters. By staying in this room, guests can crouch down to observe the intricate details of the model railway up close and even fall asleep with it.

The “Akihabara Washington Hotel” is the mastermind behind this model train room named “KUHANE1304.” The room name is derived from the terminology used during Japan’s national railway era and private railway operations, representing a locomotive, a sleeper train, and a regular passenger car, respectively. The room houses a 4-meter-wide model railway setup along with a 30-centimeter-long model train. Guests can not only bring and operate their own limited-edition model trains within the room but also enjoy the excitement of watching the actual Yamanote Line trains pass by right outside their window.
