"Masagou Music Grand Prix" Band Competition Kicks Off   Top Prize of NT$30,000

To ensure "Beigongliao 'South Kenting'" isn't the only star of the show, the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau is specially hosting the "Tainan Masagou Music Grand Prix" band competition this summer. Registration is now open until Tuesday, July 15, inviting independent bands across Taiwan to join for a chance at prizes of NT$30,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000. The top three winning teams will receive cash awards.

The "Tainan Masagou Music Grand Prix" band competition is now open for registration from today until Tuesday, July 15, offering cash prizes of NT$30,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000. The first-place winning team will also get the chance to perform as the opening act on the evening of August 9 (Saturday) at the "2014 Tainan Masagou Music Festival," with the performance being live-streamed on YouTube, showcasing the most vibrant musical energy and the most outstanding performances.

Bands with at least three members, including one student, are eligible to participate. Registration can be done by mail, by calling the event team at 02-2531-6586, or via the Tainan Tourism official website.tour.tainan.gov.twDownload the application form, fill it out, and attach a performance video to enter the first round of screening. The judging panel will select 12 teams to compete in the preliminary round based on criteria such as "self-introduction," "performance skills," "stage presence and teamwork," and "atmosphere creation." The final six bands will then perform on the main stage of the Masagou Music Festival on Saturday, August 9, thrilling the audience of tens of thousands.
