The century-old wooden dormitory of Hualien Distillery  The Grand Hotel opens the "Andante" restaurant

Since November 2013, The Grand Hotel has expanded its dining presence into eastern Taiwan by opening the Andante Restaurant in the Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park. Combining locally sourced natural ingredients with the hotel’s culinary expertise, visitors to Hualien can now enjoy five-star cuisine made with regional specialties in a nearly century-old historic site.

The hotel team has renovated the 80-year-old Japanese-style wooden dormitory area within the Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park, preserving the main building structure while adding landscaped gardens to create 13 independent wooden cottages. Completion is expected this July. Together with the restaurant, they will relaunch under the “Andante 安棠德” brand. In collaboration with a-zone Hualien Cultural and Creative Industries Park, starting July 12, they will introduce an in-depth “Cultural & Creative Experience Tour” as a two-day, one-night mini-trip. The package includes cultural art, fine dining, hands-on DIY activities, and stays in Japanese-style wooden houses. The tour is designed for two people, with special promotional rates starting from NT$4,125 per person from July 12 to September 30. Travelers are invited to explore the cultural stories and natural scenery of the Hualien Cultural and Creative Park, as well as the surrounding ecological environment and hidden attractions.
