Dress up as anime characters and get 100 NT discount on park entry — E-DA Theme Park’s Ita-Con Festival kicks off

E-DA Theme Park’s Ita-Con Festival has become an annual pilgrimage event for anime and itasha fans. This year (2014), it will take place this Saturday and Sunday. Visitors who dress up in complete cosplay outfits of any anime character can enter the park at a discounted price of 100 NT, while the general public can also enjoy a special ticket offer: two people enter together, with the second person paying just 100 NT.

In addition to exciting performances by anime bands, this year’s Ita-Con Festival has also invited Taiwan’s first-ever mini doll itasha team and doll cosplayers. The three team members, all under 8 years old on average, will dress up as Wee Willie Winkie from "Vicky the Viking," Jiu Cang Miao Wo, and the monster Mike Wazowski from "Monsters University." They will drive their Mercedes-level doll itasha cars and compete with professional cosplayers on-site. Additionally, they will bring their own mini itasha cars to be displayed at E-DA Theme Park on both Saturday and Sunday.

Moreover, the number of anime itasha vehicles participating this year has surpassed last year’s 100, allowing visitors to enjoy a wide variety of itasha cars. Notably, there will also be brand-new million-dollar motorcycle itasha on display, featuring anime-themed designs such as “THE IDOLM@STER - Miki Hoshii,” “Kantai Collection - Haruna,” and “Neon Genesis Evangelion - Asuka.”

This summer, E-DA Theme Park has invested tens of millions to create giant inflatable balloon fleets of Vicky the Viking, Heidi, Girl of the Alps, and the KuKi Family. Combined with an international pirate dance troupe, they are launching a grand pirate celebration. Visitors can experience the floating pull of the inflatable balloons, transform into little pirate navigators, and march alongside the Q-version balloon characters of Vicky, Gulliver, and the Viking chief. There will also be thrilling Viking pirate shows, all taking place during the summer holiday period. The summer discount tickets are valid from June 28 to September 8. Full-price tickets are discounted to 599 NT (original price 899 NT), which is about 67% of the original price. Visitors entering the park at 2 PM can enjoy a summer cool-off price of 399 NT.
