K-pop loving moms will be satisfied too – Must-visit Everland and Lotte World for family trips to Korea

As summer vacation draws near, it's the perfect time for families to travel abroad. Spanning 4.5 million pyeong, Everland is located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and consists of five themed zones: Global Fair, Magic Land, American Adventure, European Adventure, and Safari World. The “Global Fair” features beautifully designed buildings with exotic architectural styles such as Islamic, Spanish, and Indian influences, making it a delight for photography enthusiasts. “American Adventure” focuses on thrilling rides, attracting young visitors seeking adrenaline-pumping attractions. Meanwhile, “Magic Land” is designed based on Aesop’s Fables, allowing children to enjoy educational and entertaining storytelling in Aesop’s Fairy Tale Village.

In the “European Adventure” zone, you’ll find T EXPRESS, the world’s steepest wooden roller coaster with the highest gradient in Korea. It plunges down a 77-degree slope in just three minutes. Due to its extreme thrill, it attracts roller coaster fans from all over the world. After the excitement, head to the Safari World, home to 210 species and over 2,500 animals across 15,000 square meters. Take a park tour bus for an up-close encounter with lions, tigers, and bears, feeling like you’ve stepped into the wild. Additionally, Everland’s parade is not to be missed—it’s a high-quality spectacle that won the “Best Parade” award from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) in 2005.

Lotte World

Owned by the Lotte Group, Lotte World is a multi-purpose leisure complex with a “mysterious adventure” theme. Its indoor attractions include the Lotte Adventure section and Magic Island by Lake, along with a shopping mall, department store, Folk Museum, ice-skating rink, and hotel. The Lotte Adventure is the largest indoor theme park in the world, attracting nearly 6 million visitors annually. In addition to the Folk Museum’s historical exhibits, model village, game plaza, and shop street—all great educational spots—the “mom fans” can also check out Star Street in Lotte World, where they might catch a glimpse of Korean celebrities.

Korea’s two major theme parks offer distinctive experiences,according to well-known travel writer Sonic, who is familiar with Korean tourism.He noted that Everland offers more thrilling rides, making Lotte World a better choice for family trips.Moreover, Lotte World is conveniently located in central Seoul with easy access. But Everland, with its expansive grounds, zoo, resort, and nearby Caribbean Bay water park, allows families to choose the most suitable destination based on their children’s age.
