China Airlines introduces classic Korean dramas on board — sell Hwang Woo-ra's lipstick and Lee Min-ho's watch

Passengers can enjoy over 10 hours of classic Korean dramas non-stop on flights. In July, the in-flight entertainment system of this international airline features popular Korean idol dramas "My Love from the Star" and "The Heirs," along with related duty-free items such as the lipstick used by Hwang Woo-ra in "My Love from the Star" and the stylish men’s watch worn by Korean star Lee Min-ho in "The Heirs." This allows travelers to enjoy shopping while watching their favorite K-dramas and immerse themselves in the romantic storylines alongside their idols.

July and August mark peak travel season during summer vacation. Passengers flying on China Airlines' 747, A340, or A330 aircraft can access the “Featured Shorts” section on the personal in-flight entertainment system to watch all 21 episodes of the beloved Korean idol drama "My Love from the Star" and the first three episodes of "The Heirs," both hugely popular in Taiwan and across Asia. Travelers can watch the full series in one go or select their favorite scenes.

Alongside the K-drama screenings, China Airlines has also curated popular luxury items featured in the shows. These include the ultra-moisturizing orange lipstick used by Hwang Woo-ra, the heroine's rival in "My Love from the Star"; the trendy watch worn by the male lead Kim Tan, played by Lee Min-ho in "The Heirs"; the black crystal necklace loved by the female supporting character, Liu Seo-joo, who is the fiancée of the male lead in the same drama; and the black leather bracelet worn by Yoon Chan-young, portrayed by rock band drummer Kang Min-hyuk.

Beyond the K-drama craze, China Airlines is also specially screening "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above," directed by aerial photography master Chi Po-lin, during the summer vacation. This allows all passengers to take in Taiwan’s breathtaking views from higher altitudes through the airline’s extensive flight network. The beauty of Taiwan is also showcased to the world via selected films on board. Additionally, July highlights include blockbuster movies such as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "300: Rise of an Empire," as well as animated films suitable for children, including "Rio 2," "Mr. Peabody & Sherman," and "Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy."

In September this year, China Airlines will introduce the 777-300ER fleet equipped with the latest Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system. The premium business class features an industry-leading 18-inch screen, the premium economy class offers the world’s largest 12-inch screen, and the economy class screens have been upgraded from 9 inches to 11.1 inches. The system also includes hundreds of movies and short videos, as well as more than 20 video games.
